This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with our mobile application, Bulbee Lamp.
Your privacy is important to us. Our policy is not to collect, store, or share any of your personal data. The permissions requested by the Application are used solely for its core functionality.
1. Use of Location Permissions for Bluetooth LE Functionality
We do not collect, store, or track your geographic location. The request for location permission is a technical requirement of Google’s Android operating system to allow the Application to scan for and connect to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices.
To provide the main functionality of the Application — acting as a remote control for your physical devices — the Application must scan for and connect to these devices using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
On Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and above, the Android operating system requires applications to obtain the ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION or ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permissions in order to perform BLE scanning. This is because Bluetooth scans could theoretically be used to determine a user’s location by detecting nearby fixed Bluetooth beacons.
We want to be perfectly clear about the following points:

No location data is collected: Bulbee Lamp does not collect, record, store, or transmit any geographic location data from your device.

Purpose of the permission: Location permission is used solely for the purpose of discovering nearby Bluetooth LE devices that the Application can connect to.

No data is stored: The permission allows the Application to perform scanning, but the Application does not record or process any location information obtained from this scan. Once the connection to your device is established, the location permission is no longer actively used until a new scan is required.
In summary, Google’s Android operating system requires us to request location permission to use Bluetooth, but we never use it to determine or record your location.
2. Data Collection and Use
Our Bulbee Lamp application does not collect any personally identifiable information. All data related to the connection with your Bluetooth device is managed locally on your phone and is not sent to any server.
